Poem - The Pain Song
In the quiet of the evening, where shadows softly creep,
My heart, once full of trust, now lies in sorrow deep.
The bonds of friendship shattered, like glass upon the floor,
The pain of betrayal echoes, a wound I can’t ignore.
Promises once spoken, like whispers in the breeze,
Now crumble into silence, carried off with ease.
A friendship turned to ashes, where warmth and light once grew,
Leaves my heart in darkness, with a loneliness that’s new.
Sometimes the tears flow freely, a river in the night,
Each drop a silent witness to the loss of love’s pure light.
Other times they stay hidden, behind a brittle smile,
Hiding scars of broken trust, that stretch for miles and miles.
The weight of solitude, a heavy, aching chain,
Buried deep within my soul, a relentless, endless pain.
A heart that once was open, now shields its tender core,
From the one who once was closest, still can’t be ignored.
In crowded rooms I wander, yet there’s an empty space,
A phantom friend beside me, with an unforgotten face.
The laughter once so lively now echoes hollow and faint,
As shadows of betrayal paint my world with hues of gray.
The nights are filled with longing, for a trust that’s gone astray,
The dreams are haunted whispers, of the friendship that decayed.
I seek solace in the darkness, where no one else can see,
The shattered pieces of my heart, yearning to be free.
The memories of laughter now tarnished with regret,
The promises of forever, now as distant as the sunset.
In the garden of my heart, where once blooms did unfold,
Now barren trees stand silent, their branches dark and cold.
Yet through the veil of sorrow, a glimmer starts to rise,
A strength I didn’t know I had, reflected in my eyes.
For in the depths of anguish, a spark of hope is found,
That through the pain of betrayal, new strength is unbound.
I let the shadows linger, as they fade into the past,
For in the face of betrayal, a future is forecast.
A heart once torn asunder will mend and learn to trust,
And rise from the ashes of betrayal, renewed and just.
With time my wounds may heal, and leave the scars dry,
A reminder of the journey, through the darkness to the day.
And though the path was painful, it led me to be strong,
In the symphony of healing, my heart has found 'The Pain song.'
